Situation

Nandini, the Karnataka Milk Federation's consumer brand and one of the largest dairy businesses in India, needed its sweet-box and namkeen range redesigned. Thirty products, one deadline, a direct contract.

How we won it

Referral. The marketing VP was a close friend of our very first retainer client. I would rather say that plainly than dress it up as a competitive win — the useful part is that our first ₹8,000-a-month client's network was still vouching for our delivery years later.

Action

Led the design and illustration myself — I paint, and hand-illustration is what the range needed — and ran delivery across thirty SKUs against a state-federation approval process. Client servicing was the discipline that made it land: keeping a four-person studio synchronised with a very large institutional marketing team.

The range was built for export as well as domestic shelves. Off the back of it we were commissioned directly by the Government of Karnataka to design a sweet box distributed at central government meetings in Delhi — a state brand, in a national room, carrying artwork I drew.
